Bethel Baptist CET Sunday
On Sunday, November 18th 2007, Bethel Baptist Church celebrated the Christian Education Trust. This year's theme, “The Next Generation” focused attention on the importance of training the “next generation” in godliness as well as academics. Part of the celebration was an art exhibit of works by current students from elementary to high school including projects from the family and consumer science classes. It was exciting to see how God has richly blessed UBCS over the years with art produced by alumni, which was also in the exhibit. The new UBCS website was also on debut on computers in the lobby.
The new CET chairman, Dennis Ferrell, reported on the current fiscal state of the trust fund, reviewed the grants given to the school this year, and shared his vision of the future.
Using I Timothy 6:20 and II Timothy 1:14 Pastor Rob Campbell preached on the necessity of “guarding our deposit of truth” as if it were a sacred trust. Then he
emphasized that we as parents and grandparents should pass these biblical truths to the “next generation”. Just as the apostle Paul pleaded with Timothy, Pastor Campbell admonished us to “keep that which is committed to thy trust”.
