UBCS Graduation - The Class of 2009

Class of 2009On May 31, UBCS was pleased to have Dr. Chuck Phelps as the annual baccalaureate speaker. The next day, on June 1, 24 seniors finished their academic life at UBCS. The graduation night started with a speech from the Salutatorian Jamie Alburger. Then awards were given for academic achievement and spiritual leadership. Todd Deose, class president, presented the class gift and also passed “the buck” to the new class president, Michael Schmidt. Testimonies were given by Amanda Heverly, Casey Wurst and Chris Kehoe. The night also included special music performed by the seniors. The final speech was given by Valedictorian Amy Steward.

After the awards and speeches, each senior walked across the auditorium stage to receive congratulations from BBC Pastor Rob Campbell, School Board Chairman Kevin McDavid, Pastor Baun, class advisor Al Zwart and assistant class advisor Miss Patti McKeown. As the seniors received their diplomas, Mrs. Jen Paul and Mr. Brett Keefer read a short resume, written by each senior, which thanked those family and friends who impacted their lives.

The night ended with a reception in the gymnasium. The graduates proudly displayed their elementary and high school years with pictures, trophies, scrapbooks and even one had their motorbike. UBCS thanks the Lord for each of these graduates and looks forward to see how each will serve Him.
