30 Years of Day Care Experience
The UBCS Day Care and Pre-Kindergarten program has been in operation for over 30 years under the ministry of Bethel Baptist Church. Our caring staff makes every effort to provide a warm and a loving atmosphere for the children. We are honored to work together with our parents for the benefit of their children.
The children, infant through Pre-K, learn and grow in secure, cheerful classrooms. Our teachers are experienced in dealing with the needs of little people and show a genuine love for each child. While we cannot duplicate a home setting, we do help children learn to do many of the things that they would be taught at home.
Each class strives to meet the level of achievement possible for that age group. Training in Bible, coloring, art, music, numbers, letters, nursery rhymes, action rhymes and motor skill exercises are incorporated into the curriculum. In addition, each classroom has a variety of games and toys suited to their age group. Free playtime is scheduled each day. Children learn to play together and share. A well-equipped, up-to-date playground provides plenty of space for exercise inside a secure, fenced in area
Lunch and two snacks are provided each day. The lunch menu is varied and geared to the nutritional needs of the children. Snacks may be brought from home if desired.
Each child has his own mat and may bring a favorite blanket for daily naptime. 6 weeks to 13 month old children are assigned their own cribs.
The teachers plan special days that are suitable for their age group and reinforce ideas being taught in the classroom. (e.g. Orange Day)
Pre-Kindergarten for Four & Five Year Olds
The purpose of the Pre-Kindergarten program is to assist parents in preparing their children to enter kindergarten. We teach them in an atmosphere that upholds faith in God, love and respect for family, love of their country, respect for authority and in instills in them a love for learning. The children are taught that God created all things, and that He loves us and cares for each of us.
By teaching line-upon-line and precept-upon-precept, our children learn: upper and lower case letters, number 1-100, colors, shapes, months and seasons. Special days are scheduled to reinforce the concepts that are being taught in the classroom. The children also go on several field trips to enhance their community awareness.
The year-end graduation program is a highlight of the Pre-kindergarten experience. All family and friends are invited to share in this special evening. A reception follows the program. It is a night to remember!
