Elementary Education . . . Laying a Firm Foundation
The elementary classes are held in a beautifully maintained vintage school building, formerly the West Rockhill Elementary, on Ridge Road (Rt 563), just north of Sellersville. An up-dated playground includes a black top area for organized games and field areas for recess and break times.
Our dedicated and qualified faculty is skilled at handling academics and using God's Word to shape lives and character. BJU Press and ABeka textbooks are used in every grade. Secular texts are used occasionally. SRA (Scientific Research Associates) Reading Laboratory: listening skills, reading comprehension, and reading speed development.
In addition to the daily academic classes, qualified instructors teach art, general music, computer, library classes and separate boys and girls physical education classes. The students assemble weekly for Chapel in the Church auditorium on the main campus. Private piano and group instrumental lessons are also available. Christmas and spring concerts are presented from a Christian perspective.
All students go on special field trips throughout the year. Each Friday students bring home a Weekly Folder and an Activity Sheet. The READS program (Remedial Educational And Diagnostic Services, Inc.)- a reading and math remedial service and speech therapy are available at parental request. SSR (Sustained Silent Reading) is a daily, ten-minute program for all grades. The national reading incentive program "Book It!" is conducted each year for five months.
Classes are held in a safe, secure environment that is bright and cheerful. UBCS prides itself in providing a Christ-centered educational experience that lays a solid foundation for young students. Under the tender watch-care of our talented teaching staff, our students go on to their secondary education well prepared and well adjusted.
