

Heritage Studies - This course of study begins in by teaching the students about their world and the people that effect their daily lives through 2nd grade. The third grade course begins to introduce US history through the War for Independence. The Fourth grade course continues US history through World War II the first half of the year and covers Pennsylvania history the second half of the year. The Fifth grade course introduces the students to the geography of North and South America. The Sixth grade course introduces the students to the geography of Southwest Asia, South Asia, Southeast Asia, China, Korea, Japan, Australia, Oceania, and Africa. A brief history of each area of study is also included.

This PA course begins with the state’s resources, it early Indian inhabitants, and William Penn. It then traces the colonial days through the War for Independence to statehood, the effect of the Civil War, and the period of the two World Wars.
This course covers European and Asian history from 1100 AD through the present day.
This course covers the early exploration of the northern and southern hemispheres and continues to the Civil War and its termination at Appomattox. It acquaints the students with the Christian heritage of the United States and presents the political, social and economic forces of the time.
This course is a continuation of U. S. History I. It begins with a brief review of the material covered in the previous course with an intense review of the events surrounding the Civil War. Presentation of new material begins with the problems of the restoration of the South to the Union (reconstruction) and continues to the 20th-Century. It delves into the transformation of the United States from a primarily agricultural economy rooted in isolationism to an industrialized nation involved in many global conflicts and giant industrial strides. It examines the people, scientific developments and intellectual trends that were instrumental in making modern America.
The American Government/Economics course is required of all seniors and is designed to help students understanding their heritage from a philosophical standpoint as well as develop a healthy patriotic loyalty. The Constitution, as the founding gathers wrote and interpreted it, will be studied along with the present-day Supreme Court interpretations and actual governmental practices. Integrated with the study of government is the study of the American free-enterprise system as designed by our founding fathers. The course will concentrate on the study of macroeconomics and making application of the general principles to everyday life.
