
Who is watching the weather?School administrators and the Transportation Director maintain a careful watch of the weather during the snow season. They obtain their information by phone and radio/television broadcasts, as well as the National Weather Service.

Weather conditions may be such that delaying the opening of school by two hours may be necessary. Buses will arrive at stops two hours later than usual and school will begin two hours later. If there is a two hour delay, Morning Kindergarten will be cancelled and Afternoon Kindergarten will be on normal class schedules.
The decision to close school is normally made by 5:30 a.m. so that radio and television stations can be notified and other procedures initiated.
If snow begins to accumulate to several inches the students maybe dismissed earlier than normal. If there is an early dismissal, all school appointments, athletic events and functions likewise will be canceled for that particular day. Students will be sent home on the school buses unless parents make other arrangements.
Radio, TV and the internet are the official source for notifying students and parents that schools are closed or delayed because of weather conditions. Cancellations, delayed openings and early dismissals will be broadcast over the following stations:
